Happy Hour in Taipei

Join Berkeley and Columbia alumni for networking and to pay tribute to the 101th Anniversary of Dr. Chien-Shiung Wu's birth (1912-1997). Dr. Wu studied in the Physics Department of the National Central University from 1930-1934 in mainland China and later completed her Ph.D. at UC Berkeley in 1940.  She was also a faculty member at Columbia University from 1944 to 1980. A highly accomplished physicist, Dr. Wu was named "First Lady of Physics" and has been an inspirational role model for women in science and minority scholars in the U.S.

Mr. Tsai-Chien Chiang, author of Dr. Wu's biography will present his documentary film on Dr. Wu and share his thoughts on the role she has played in the history of science and culture.

Venue: Taipei 101 Tower 36F Conference Center

Cost: NT$300 for Berkeley and Columbia alumni with RSVP and NT$500 for walk-in's and other guests (light refreshments will be provided)
