The Singapore Berkeley community welcomed over 200 guests – science students and teachers and other interested guests -- to a public lecture featuring Dr. George Smoot III in which he described his discoveries on the origin of the universe which lead to his winning the Nobel Prize in 2006.

The ballroom of the Ritz Carlton Hotel Jakarta welcomed over 100 guests for a memorable evening of fun. The event featured a spectacular dinner which brought together senior and junior alumni and friends in song and friendship.

Over 100 alumni and other distinguished guests gathered at the Dorchester Hotel on November 13 for a discussion with Nobel laureate Steve Chu on the latest research to address the challenges of global warming.

The Berkeley Club of Hong Kong Executive Committee Members, Herman and Jeanie Hu, hosted a "Cal" Parent Reception on the occasion of the visit to Hong Kong of Simon and Eileen Chow, Vice Chairs of the Cal Parents Fund.

Over 70 alumni and friends gathered to welcome Dr. Sadako Ogata, former UN High Commissioner for Refugees, who spoke about the importance of public service and global harmony. This event was co-hosted by the International House at UC Berkeley.
