The Berkeley Club of the Philippines is run by dedicated alumni volunteers, placing their professional expertise and diverse areas of interest at the service of the university and fellow Golden Bears. It is with great pleasure and enthusiasm that we continue to encourage interested alumni, students, and friends to join us in our activities and efforts.

Eric Tomacruz (Ph.D. Electrical Engineering and Computer Science ’94)

Eric is a social media entrepreneur with a focus on finding innovative ways to bridge relevant information from multiple sites to the global internet community. He has developed a variety of services,  including personalized social recommendation engines for discovery of destinations. His experience also includes providing tools & platforms for schools to effectively reach and interact with prospective and current students, and alumni.

Vice President
Sean Go (B.S. Business Administration, B.A. Economics & Geography '15)

Sean earned three bachelor's degrees from UC Berkeley (Business Administration, Geography, and Economics). He is a founding partner at MHG Digital Asset Group, an actively managed hedge fund that performs in the top quartile of its peer groups. Sean is also the CEO of two educational startups (GoFurther Careers and ProWrite). Professionally, Sean worked as a Transaction Advisory Consultant at EY San Francisco, Venture Capital Associate at Techstars Atlanta, and has investment banking and advisory experiences in Singapore and Manila.

Alyzza Acacio (B.A. Political Science & Economics ‘18)

Alyzza Acacio graduated from UC Berkeley in 2018 with a double major in Economics and Political Science. She has been involved in the Berkeley Club of the Philippines since 2014.

Treasurer
Johnny de Castro (LL.M. '09, J.S.D '11)

Johnny de Castro is a practicing lawyer in the Philippines and serves as managing partner of the De Castro & Cagampang-de Castro Law Firm. He specializes in debtor-defense litigation, liquidation (Chapter 7) and corporate rehabilitation (Chapter 11) proceedings, as well as energy law and policy. He authored Philippine Energy Law published in 2012, and holds the distinction of being the first Filipino with a Doctor of Juridical Science (J.S.D.) degree from UC Berkeley Law. He is happily married with 2 beautiful daughters.

Nikki Ng (B.A. Political Economy of Industrial Society '98 )
Pre-K Educator

Nikki is a preschool educator whose primary goal is to promote early literacy and reading development in children.  Mother of three, she continues to develop the School's curriculum by understanding children’s needs through her very own children.  Prior to her role as preschool educator, Nikki worked as an Investment Analyst in San Francisco.

Chris has had various engineering experiences, including the Philippines and Hong Kong, as well as Berkeley, where he also worked as an undergraduate research assistant.

Senior Partner, Benitez Salem Baldonado Law Firm

Karl S. Borja is a practicing lawyer and is a Senior Partner at Benitez Salem Baldonado Law Firm. He specializes in real estate transactions and government compliance. Prior to private practice, he served in government for 10 years, starting with the Office of the President and with the Housing and Land Use Regulatory Board. He earned his Master of Laws degree from the University of California, Berkeley in 2013.

Chairman, Founder, and Managing Partner, CB Richard Ellis Philippines

Rick Santos joined CB Richard Ellis Philippines in 1994, where he currently serves as Chairman, Founder, and Managing Partner. He is a graduate of UC Berkeley, the London School of Economics, and Oxford University.
