Join our first alumni event of the year featuring visiting Berkeley Professor Kenneth Bamberger. Come mingle with fellow alumni and friends and hear about The Berkeley Institute for Jewish Law & Israel Studies. New year, new chance to get involved with the Berkeley Club of Israel! Light dinner will be served.
The Berkeley Institute for Jewish Law and Israel Studies has transformed the landscape on the UC Berkeley campus around Jewish and Israel issues. The Institute houses Berkeley’s Israel Studies Program and Jewish Law, Thought, and Identity Program. On January 21st, the Berkeley Club will gather, and will have the chance to hear from Professor Kenneth A. Bamberger, the Institute’s Faculty Director (on sabbatical at Tel Aviv University) about the Institute’s role as a campus hub for student support and faculty engagement. He will be joined by recent Cal graduate Nir Maoz, a former Undergraduate Fellow of the Institute who is now in Jerusalem studying economic energy sanctions at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem with Professor Itay Fischhendler, a former Visiting Faculty member at the Institute.
