Join a special lecture and reception with Professor Jeroen Dewulf, Director, Institute of European Studies, titled “From New Amsterdam to New York: The Dutch History of Manhattan” about the city of New York’s Dutch roots. Once called New Amsterdam, it was the capital of the 17th-century Dutch settlement called New Netherland. In this talk, Professor Dewulf will share what the Dutch history of the city can teach us about modern-day New York. Partners and friends are welcome.
