Berkeley Clubs play a vital role in creating communities overseas, with a mission to support the university and connect alumni to one another. This guide provides essential resources, expectations, and tips to help you effectively run an alumni club. Thank you for your dedication in strengthening our global alumni network!
Finance
Overview
All Berkeley Clubs are responsible for their own finances and operating budget. The university is unable to provide financial support to cover club expenditures and activities except for limited annual grants (see details below). In addition, the club’s assets must be irrevocably dedicated to benefiting the university and if a club dissolves, its assets must be transferred to the UC Berkeley Foundation.
Grants
Officially recognized international alumni clubs in good standing are eligible to receive an annual grant of up to $500 to support club activities that enhance the student experience, such as summer send-offs or mentorship opportunities, or provide alumni with learning experiences like speaker series, fireside chats, lectures, and professional networking events. Additional grants of up to $1,500 are available and awarded annually. All grants requests must be submitted by April 15 for events held by June 30, 2025. Email for more information.
