Leadership

Under the leadership of Terence Chen ’98, the Berkeley Club of Taiwan continues to serve all Cal alumni in Taiwan by connecting alumni, students, faculty, and parents. The executive committee of the club comprises volunteer alumni from a variety of professional fields, all dedicated to the sustainable, long-term development of the Berkeley Club of Taiwan. The club also provides — through its Berkeley Club of Taiwan Scholarship Fund — financial support to students of Taiwanese descent at Berkeley.

Terence graduated from UC Berkeley in 1998 with a bachelor’s degree in Architecture. He enjoys basketball, food, wine, and cars. Terence excels at communication, negotiation, organizational planning, and has over 20 years of experience in the field of retail, food solution, marketing and EC.

Andy has been an enthusiastic and devoted member of the Berkeley Club of Taiwan since 2008. Throughout his journey with the club, he has actively collaborated with the team to create engaging and unforgettable experiences for its members. He welcomes new event ideas, whether they involve networking, stimulating intellectual dialogues, or other school events that celebrate the cherished Berkeley spirit.

Born and raised in Tainan, Olivia attended Berkeley for her Master of Laws, where she discovered her passion for emerging legal issues in the tech industry. During her college years in Taipei, she actively worked as a young advocate for foreign affairs, striving to connect Taiwan to the world. Now, she continues her efforts by fostering connections among Bears (alumni), Baby Bears (students), and Bears-to-be as a part of the Berkeley Club of Taiwan.

Jessica was born and raised in Taiwan, and she had two cousins near her age who got into UC Berkeley. Ever since she visited Berkeley in sixth grade, it had been her dream to become a Cal Bear. Jessica majored in Applied Mathematics because she enjoyed the process of solving math problems. When she was preparing for her CFA Level 1, she accidentally began another career as a math teacher as well as an educational consultant. She enjoys meeting younger students and gives them advice for academics and future goals. In her free time, she likes to travel and visit small cafes in Taipei.

Ted seeks to develop his professional competence and explore the business world. During his free time, Ted loves reading books, playing badminton, and watching NBA basketball. He hopes to connect young Cal graduates with the Berkeley Club of Taiwan to develop their networks in Taiwan.

Managing Director, AAM Capital

Born in Taiwan and raised in the US, Andrew is a seasoned executive with over 19 years of experience in clean energy and digital infrastructure. A UC Berkeley graduate, he is dedicated to mentoring the next generation of leaders, particularly from his alma mater. Andrew holds an MBA from Rice University and is currently pursuing Executive Leadership Education at Harvard. He has led large scale investment projects across Asia and focuses on empowering future leaders to drive sustainable innovation. Through his role at AAM Capital and previous positions at Dell Technologies and Equis Funds Group, he continues to create opportunities for young professionals.

Jack was born in Taipei, Taiwan.  He immigrated to the United States at the age of 16.  He is passionate about using technology/systematic ways to solve complex business problems. His work experience includes engineering, consulting, intellectual properties, supply chain management, and marketing.  In his spare time, he enjoys volunteering, dancing and traveling.  GO BEARS!

Kylie was born and raised in Taipei but chose to pursue her B.A. degree at UC Berkeley. After graduating from Cal, Kylie continued her education at the Monterey Institute of International Studies to be an English-Chinese interpreter. She is now a freelance interpreter and an English hostee based in Taipei. As she has to travel a lot for different assignments, she tries her best to contribute the rest of her time as CEO (also known as chief entertainment officer) for the Berkeley Club of Taiwan to make sure all the Bears in Taiwan are having fun and closely connected.

CW splits his time between Santa Clara and Asia, representing Applied Materials Corporate Strategy and Development. From 2018-21 he was the Chairman of the American Chamber of Commerce. He enjoys coaching his son’s baseball and biking with his daughter.

Peggy graduated Cal in 2016 with a double major and 2 minors. During her time there, she served as the President of Taiwanese American Student Association and Chair of East Asian Union, spreading her love for for Taiwanese culture on campus and beyond. Born in Taipei and raised in Dubai, Peggy enjoys learning foreign languages, tasting eclectic cuisines, and exploring different corners of the world.

After graduating from Cal, Henry pursued his doctoral degree and received a post-Doc at UCSD. Since then, he has been striving to bring advanced, next-generation technology to solve unaddressed medical issues, and seeks to be a bridge between the U.S and Taiwan med tech industry. Currently, he’s the president and CEO of Libo Pharma, a biotech company focusing on bringing novel immune-therapy for treatment of cancers and auto-inflammatory diseases.

Frank graduated from Berkeley-Haas with an M.B.A. in 1998. He has worked in the finance industry since 1998 in various locations, including London, Singapore, Hong Kong, and Taipei.  He came back to Taipei in 2012.  Frank hopes to connect the Haas community with the Berkeley Club of Taiwan.

Sean is a traveler, photographer and lawyer. As a traveler, Sean has set foot in 18 countries, including two wonderful years in Berkeley and Chicago. As an amateur photographer, he enjoys sharing the memorable moments captured during travel and life. As a lawyer, he has extensive experience advising clients on intellectual property, technology and data privacy.

Weiluo was born in Taiwan and raised in the US. While he studied chemical engineering, his first foray into enzymes and the biochemical world occurred when he did undergraduate research in Prof. Clark’s lab. He gained further interest with enzyme engineering when he worked at Codexis as an RA and thereafter decided to pursue a MSc/PhD on the same subject at University College London. Most recently, Weiluo served as COO at a microalgae biotech startup in London.
